Recently, Hall No. 3 on the Chengdu Science and Technology Innovation Ecological Island, constructed by CSCEC, was awarded the Near Zero Energy Building Certification by the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency. The recognition highlights CSCEC's continued commitment to creating "breathing buildings" powered by technological innovation.

Located on the western side of the island, Hall No. 3 resembles a diamond resting by the lakeside when viewed from above. The project maximizes the use of natural ventilation and daylighting, while integrating advanced technologies such as ground-source heat pumps, photovoltaic systems, and intelligent lighting to significantly reduce energy consumption. It was also selected as a green and low-carbon best practice case by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment in 2023.
The building adopts a steel frame structural system, which offers higher strength, greater spatial flexibility, and reduced material usage compared to conventional concrete structures. Its single-layer curved lattice shell, spanning up to 94 meters, stands out as a model of lightweight design.

Skylights, enhanced roof insulation, and triple-pane double-chamber double-silver argon-filled glass improve natural light and ventilation while cutting energy use.

Building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) are extensively applied, with photovoltaic glass installed across the dome expected to generate approximately 140,000 kWh of electricity annually, providing a sustainable energy source for the facility.

Inside the hall, high-efficiency HVAC systems, energy-saving lighting, elevators, and fresh air heat recovery units are fully deployed. The building achieves an overall energy-saving rate of 69.95% and a renewable energy utilization rate of 75.55%, with zero direct carbon emissions.
