The National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin), contracted by CSCEC, is a world-class exhibition hall with modern science and technology, environmental protection and various functions.
Equivalent to 193 standard football fields
The National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin) project consists of 2 central concourses and 32 exhibition halls, with a total construction area of 1.38 million square meters, equivalent to 193 standard football fields.
The project has a convenient transport system. It is 20 kilometers away from Tianjin Port, only 15 kilometers away from a high-speed railway station and 10 kilometers away from Tianjin Binhai International Airport. People have many options for transportation including air travel, train and cruise ship
The world's top-level heavy-duty exhibitions can be held here
The central concourse has a maximum bearing capacity of 10 tons, and can hold the world's top heavy-duty exhibitions. The maximum carrying capacity of the project can reach one million, which can serve Northeast Asia and the world at large after completion.
To hold a world's top heavy-duty exhibition, it requires extremely high bearing capacity and wear resistance of the ground. Therefore, the construction team adopted the methods of thickening the bottom plate, densely installing heavy-duty prestressed pipe piles, and curing the concrete surface layer to ensure that the bottom plate of the indoor exhibition hall remained stable, while the outdoor exhibition hall adopted the methods of strengthening the foundation and thickening the concrete cover layer, etc., and all the internal sub-trench cover plates were subjected to compression tests to meet the exhibition needs of heavy equipments.
The best advocate of going green
In June 2021, the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin) will host its first event - the China Building Science Conference and Green Intelligent Building Expo, which will focus on green building materials, modern buildings and prefabricated buildings, as well as cutting-edge fields and latest achievements. And the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin) is the best advocate of going green. The assembly of 32 steel umbrella-like pillars in the central concourse is the representative of green building construction. Through the "self-balancing" assembly and hoisting, the project team completes the "umbrella" like building blocks, which not only ensures the structural safety in the installation process, but also reduces the material loss and construction pollution. At the same time, the project combines roof solar photovoltaic panels, the rainwater siphon system and the large-area glass curtain wall to minimize the energy consumption.
