Recently, Kenyan President William Ruto visited the IKM project built by CSCEC. This marks the first time the president has visited the site since the project began.
President Ruto and his team toured the construction site, observing the progress and receiving a detailed briefing on the project's development. During a media interview on site, President Ruto highlighted the significance of the project, noting that it is Kenya's largest ongoing road infrastructure project. He emphasized that the project is crucial not only for improving the country’s transport network and enhancing the convenience of travel for residents, but also as a key driver for regional economic growth and job creation.
The project stretches over 205 kilometers, connecting northern Kenyan towns Isiolo, Kulamawe, and ModoGashe. As a critical route for the northern region, the completed road will significantly improve connectivity and play a vital role in boosting local economic development.
