Lush forests on hills, villages atop mountains, fields of wildflowers...this is the captivating scenery of the Chongqing Guangyang Isle's ecological restoration initiative carried out by CSCEC. Over the past decade, through the systematic natural recovery and ecological restoration planned by CSCEC engineers, the number of plant species here has increased from 383 to 627, and animal species from 310 to 460. Currently, the project has been selected as a Good Practice for the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
Today, on #BiodiversityDay, if you were the chief planner of a small town, wouldn't you also envision small-town life: warm sunlight caressing your face, strolling amidst lush greenery, occasionally encountering adorable animals pausing to gaze at you.
