TheJinggangshan Navigation and Power Hub Project is the first major infrastructure PPP project in Jiangxi Province, and the first large water conservancy and hydropower project built by CSCEC. The project focuses on shipping but also can be used for electricity generation. The project locks are designed to have an annual one-way passing capacity of 9.46 million tons. After completion, it can realize the passage of 1,000-ton ships to the sea. The average annual capacity of power generation of the project is about 500 million kilowatt-hours, which is of great significance to improve people's livelihood in Jiangxi, help Jiangxi's economic development and link the province with the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The project is designed to generate 500 million kWh of electricity on average, saving more than 180,000 tons of standard coal and reducing more than 30,000 tons of soot emissions per year compared with thermal power.
