CSCEC hosts first Up We Build Global Tour

CSCEC recently concluded the first Up We Build Global Tour in Wuhan, Hubei Province, bringing together 20 government officials from infrastructure-related departments, senior executives of partner companies and young representatives from more than 10 countries, including Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Vietnam.

During the nine-day event, they visited Beijing, Suzhou in Jiangsu Province, Wuhan and Yichang in Hubei Province. Through project visits, cultural activities and in-depth exchanges, they gained a firsthand understanding of a real, multidimensional and comprehensive China while fostering friendship and mutual understanding among young people from China and other countries.

The event opened with a friendship tea gathering featuring traditional Chinese cultural activities, including lacquer fan painting and scented sachet making. Young participants also took to the stage to perform guitar songs and recorder pieces, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

In Beijing, the young representatives visited the North Branch Project of the Palace Museum, built by CSCEC, to learn how modern construction technologies support cultural heritage preservation. They also toured the Palace Museum, the world's largest existing complex of wooden palace buildings, and visited Zhonghai Daji Alley, a commercial complex, where they saw how historic preservation has been integrated with modern urban development.

In Suzhou, the young representatives explored the Humble Administrator's Garden, experiencing the aesthetics of classical Chinese gardens, and learned about intangible cultural heritage items including Suzhou embroidery and pingtan, a traditional storytelling and ballad-singing art form. They visited the CSCEC Future Building to gain insights into China's advances in low-carbon construction and smart buildings. They also toured a CSCEC project at Nanjing University's Suzhou campus and the Yangtze River Delta Robot 6S Flagship Store, where they learned about the latest applications of intelligent technologies and digital construction.

In Hubei, the young representatives toured the China Construction Science and Technology Museum, Yi'ai Lake Park in Huanggang, Construction Factory Test Center, a quality home laboratory and Qianzishan Waste-to-Energy Power Plant, gain a comprehensive understanding of CSCEC's capabilities in intelligent construction, the research and development of new materials, green development and the circular economy.

In Yichang, the young representatives visited the Three Gorges Dam and the Wujiagang Yangtze River Bridge to experience China's engineering capabilities in major infrastructure projects. They also toured CSCEC's old residential community renovation project in Xiling District, where they saw how urban renewal projects are improving residents' daily lives.

During the event, the international participants were also invited to attend the World Youth Development Forum 2026, where they joined young people from around the world in discussions on topics including volunteer services and cultural exchanges.
