Spanning 4.7 kilometers with dual three-lane carriageways, the section includes viaducts, underground and subsea tunnels, buildings, and temporary reclamation works. It cuts travel time between Yau Ma Tei and Kowloon Bay from 30 minutes to just 5.

CSCEC’s works form a core part of the project, including the Kai Tak Interchange and connecting roads with 24 entry and exit points, linking the Central Kowloon Bypass to the Kai Tak Development Area and Kowloon Bay road network.

To protect the Kai Tak River, the CSCEC team built a 4,650-tonne temporary steel platform using 77 Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) units. The project also integrated Building Information Modeling (BIM) with off-site steel prefabrication to reduce waste and improve sustainability. A smart site management system enabled digital monitoring of quality, safety, environment protection, and progress.
