Recently, the first offshore working pile of the R1013/2F Improvement of Al Shindagha Corridor – Access to Dubai Island from Bur Dubai Side Project—was successfully completed. The pile measures 2.5 meters in diameter and 52 meters in length, making it a large-diameter, extra-long pile.
The project team has introduced advanced technologies and innovative construction methods, achieving several major breakthroughs. For the first time in the UAE, Bailey panels were used to construct an offshore access trestle, boosting construction efficiency by over 30%. Onshore pier columns and superstructures adopted China's standardized rapid-assembly rebar cages, reducing construction time by more than 80% compared with conventional methods.
As of September 2025, all pile foundation works on the side of the Dubai Islands have been completed.
