Recently, a delegation composed of scholars and friendly personages from seven countries—including Egypt, South Korea, and Laos—visited the Shenyang-Changbaishan High-speed Railway undertaken by CSCEC. The delegation experienced first-hand China's innovations in green and smart high-speed rail construction through immersive, on-site engagement.

Stretching 44.4 kilometers with a designed speed of 350 km/h, the railway connects China's northeast region with the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region. Once operational, it will reduce travel time from Shenyang to Changbaishan to just two hours, significantly enhancing regional mobility and creating new opportunities for tourism.

CSCEC's construction segment includes three technically challenging key bridges and one tunnel. The project team is tasked with completing millimeter-precision structural works and equipment installation under extreme winter conditions—temperatures dropping as low as minus 30°C—posing stringent demands on construction techniques, material performance, and workforce capability.

Mahamud Hirsi, an international student from Jilin University, said, from design to execution, every detail of this project demonstrates an extraordinary level of professionalism. It's truly impressive.

Moreover, the project has upheld a philosophy of ecological priority and wildlife protection throughout its construction, reflecting both a respect for nature and a sense of responsibility toward future generations. The adoption of fully enclosed, silver-gray metal acoustic barriers effectively blocks the noise generated by high-speed train operations, achieving a "silent passage" effect. This quiet environment provides a peaceful habitat for the Chinese merganser, a nationally protected species at the highest conservation level.

Park Jae Woo a professor of the Chinese Department at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and a sinologist, gently ran his hand over the sound-absorbing structure of the noise barrier and said with genuine admiration, China's high-speed rail construction not only showcases exceptional engineering prowess, but also embodies the wisdom of harmonizing infrastructure with ecology. This is a concept well worth learning from.

Egyptian sinologist Mira Ahmed said, the visit and expert briefings are incredibly informative. I hope to see projects of this project implemented in my own country.

Tarek Taher, Akhbar alAdab's editor-in-chief, added that what deserves the highest praise is the Chinese people's remarkable ability to overcome challenges and turn ambitious dreams into reality.
