CSCEC is participating in the construction of the Olympic City located in the eastern part of Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The project covers an area of approximately 100.6 hectares with a building area of around 120,000 square meters, utilizing over 7,100 tons of steel. The construction includes five main sports venues: a stadium, a swimming pool, a velodrome, a multi-purpose hall, and a combat sports arena. The steel structure construction of the project is currently nearing completion.
CSCEC is responsible for the construction of the cable net of the velodrome. The velodrome's roof features a saddle-shaped single-layer orthogonal cable net, with the steel arch beams spanning a maximum of 115 meters north to south and approximately 145 meters east to west. This design significantly increases the space of the venue while achieving structural lightness. The first lift of the velodrome’s steel structure was successfully completed in September 2023, and the cable net installation and tensioning were completed in April 2024.
The Olympic City is a major cooperation project between China and Uzbekistan. Once completed, it will host the 4th Asian Youth Games and the 5th Asian Youth Para Games in 2025.
