CSCEC values personal growth and skill enhancement during the construction of the projects of the Belt and Road Initiative. It actively promotes the development of transnational friendships and expands a happy living environment in various countries.
With CSCEC, I witness a better world
Young employees from different countries share their stories of why they chose to work in CSCEC and the stories of personal growth and friendships they have on this broad platform.
In Egypt
In 2019, Demiana Tadrous graduated from the Chinese Department of the School of Linguistics at Ain Shams University in Egypt. After graduation, she joined CSCEC and worked in the comprehensive management department of the CBD project in New Administrative Capital of Egypt, where she was responsible for translation and administrative management. During her three years at CSCEC, she learned about advanced construction technologies such as skyscraper-building machines and witnessed the rapid changes in her hometown.
In Malaysia
The Grandhill Plot5 project is a top-notch residential complex located in the scenic Genting Highlands of Malaysia, including mountain roads and various business formats. Low Tiong Fu works as an administrative officer in the project. During his student days, Low Tiong Fu had a part-time job at a resort in Genting Highlands, where strong winds and fog were common. It was challenging for tourism, let alone construction. Nowadays, a mountain road has been completed, and on the road, you can see the resort on the opposite mountain and its beautiful scenery.
In Ethiopia
The new headquarters building of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, built by CSCEC, is located in the business center of Addis Ababa, the capital city. With a total construction area of 160,000 square meters and a tower height of 209 meters, it will become a landmark building in Ethiopia and even in East Africa. This is the result of four-year efforts by electrical engineer Belay Bitew Mengist and his team members. It is also the first project he joined in his own country.
In Algeria
The AADL-20000 housing project is a social housing project in Algeria with a total construction area of approximately 3.42 million square meters, consisting of 18 plots. The project adopts the aluminum formwork system, which significantly reduces weight, making it easier for builders to operate and improving efficiency. Bellche Merouane is a senior analysis engineer for the project. After learning about China's aluminum formwork system, he gained a deeper understanding of China's construction industry.
Witness happiness, transnational friendship
Young CSCECers cooperate with each other on an international platform, building strong transnational friendships.
In Egypt
In the CBD project in New Administrative Capital of Egypt, the twin C07 and C08 office towers form a unique skyline, known as the Twin Stars of North Africa's Desert. Here, as an administrative manager, Eslam Sayed Elnagar witnessed the construction process of this project and established profound friendships with colleagues from different countries.
In Sri Lanka
Tri-Zen Apartments, the first intelligent high-rise luxury apartment project with smart homes in Sri Lanka, stands in the central business district of Colombo. As a financial assistant, Janani is amazed by the forward-thinking design of the project, and she appreciates how modern technology provides more possibilities for a better living space.
In Iraq
The Nasiriyah International Airport is a project filled with hope. This airport will become one of Iraq's important gateways, connecting people from around the world. Engineer Ahmed, originally from Egypt, has formed deep friendships with colleagues here while witnessing the remarkable transformation of this airport. Together, they have demonstrated how unity and collaboration in infrastructure development can safeguard the city's promising future.
In Uzbekistan
The Sirdarya 1,500MW CCGT Power Plant near the Syr Darya River in Uzbekistan adopts the design featuring high-temperature combustion, large individual capacity, and highly efficient gas turbines with zero wastewater. Once completed, the project will provide 360 million kWh of electricity to the local grid daily, meeting the energy needs of three provinces.
Jinze (Шахзод), hailing from Gulistan near the Syr Darya River, serves as an assistant project engineer. Starting as a translator with no engineering knowledge, Jinze's work skills have continuously improved through CSCEC's training program, gradually transitioning him from a translator to an assistant engineer.
