With 100 days to go, three venues in Hangzhou ready for 19th Asian Games

In order to ensure better travel and performance of athletes, CSCECers have long prepared service facilities for the Asian Games. Let's take a closer look at the venues and related projects of the Hangzhou Asian Games!

Three venues for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games

The three venues include the main indoor stadium, an indoor natatorium, and a comprehensive training center in Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center. The stadium,with 18,000 seats, and the natatorium, with a seating capacity of 6,400, are connected to form a single building, which is the world's largest building with nonlinear design formed by two venues. The comprehensive training center, known as the world's largest "Jade Cong", includes such facilities as a training center, five major centers, a handball hall, athletes' dormitories and other supporting facilities. It is also the location of the MOC command center. During the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, the main stadium will be used to hold basketball games, the natatorium will be used to stage events like swimming, diving, and synchronized swimming, and the comprehensive training center will serve as a training venue for nine games including basketball, wrestling, volleyball, taekwondo, and handball. 

Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games Village

Located in Qianjiang Century City, Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, and covering a construction area of 260,000 square meters, the Asian Games Village is one of the core tasks of the preparations for the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou. Adhering to the Games' concept of "Green, Smart, Economical, Ethical", the Asian Games Village will provide accommodation for technical officials and ensure the successful hosting of the Asian Games.

Hangzhou Qiandao Lake Asian Games Resort

Located in the Jieshou Area of the Qiandao Lake and covering a total construction area of about 66,000 square meters, the Hangzhou Qiandao Lake Asian Games Resort consists of 60 individual buildings such as resort hotels, service apartments, and hotels, and will provide comprehensive services such as food and accommodation for athletes, technical staff, and press corps of the 19th Asian Games.

Shaoxing North Second Ring Road Smart Expressway Project

With a total length of about 11.6 km, Shaoxing North Second Ring Road Smart Expressway Project is a supporting project of Hangzhou Asian Games and the first assembly construction project in Zhejiang Province. Its main line is designed according to the standards of urban expressway and the first-class highway.

Zhejiang Sports Vocational and Technical College renovation project

With a total renovation area of 40,600 square meters, Zhejiang Sports Vocational and Technical College renovation project includes the upgrading and renovation of the main track and field, the sub-track and field, the auxiliary training rooms, the gymnastics hall, and the heavy sports hall. After completion, the College can not only provide training venues for athletes during the Asian Games, but also meet the post-game training and teaching needs.

Main stadium of the Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center

Located in Longwan District, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, the main stadium of the Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center is the highest-level football stadium in Wenzhou that will serve as a competition venue for soccer matches at the Asian Games. With a total construction area of 70,000 square meters, it can accommodate 50,000 people at the same time. The main stadium uses 410 sets of high-power professional sports lighting fixtures, which can meet the requirements of HDTV real-time broadcasts of the Asian Games and international events.

China Resources super high-rise project

With a total construction area of 236,000 square meters, the project is a supporting project of Hangzhou Asian Games consisting of a 43-story tower, a 33-story tower, and two independent 2-story podium buildings. Adjacent to Hangzhou International Expo Center and the three venues for Asian Games, it will promote the smooth hosting of the Asian Games and become a beautiful landscape of Qianjiang Century City.

Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport Phase III Project

With a total construction area of 660,000 square meters, Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport Phase III Project consists of the passenger terminal building, three concourses on the north side, the underground space, sewage pumping station, and the expansion of the original buildings. By 2027, Xiaoshan International Airport aims to achieve an annual passenger throughput of over 50 million, with cargo and mail throughput hitting 1.5 million tons a year and the airport's ground-access system reaching international standards.

Hangzhou Airport Express Line

As the first of its kind in Hangzhou, Hangzhou Airport Express Line is about 59 km long, linking the West Hangzhou Railway Station, East Hangzhou Railway Station, and Xiaoshan International Airport. The project is of great significance for speeding up the construction of the city's comprehensive transportation network and providing high-quality services for the Hangzhou Asian Games. CSCEC undertook the equipment installation and decoration of 4 stations, 5 track intervals, and 1 interval air shaft.
