Uganda's mainstream media cover CSCEC's KS road project in Uganda

Recently, local mainstream media such as UGNEW24, REDPEPPER, and ChimpReports covered on the Uganda KS (Kapchorwa-Suam) road project undertaken by CSCEC. The report pointed out, hat 70% of the project has been completed, and once completed, it will help ease thetraffic pressure and promote local economic development in SebeiSub-Region.

The project is located on Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda, adjacent to the border between Uganda and Kenya. It starts from Kapchorwa in the west to Suam in the east. The terrain along the line is steep. The high-altitude road section is about 11 kilometers, and the highest point is 2,300 meters above sea level. The total length of the project line is 92 kilometers. It is an important traffic artery connecting Uganda and Kenya.

Since the start of construction on October 1, 2018, the project team has strictly followed the requirements arranged by the local and formulated a construction plan based on the actual situation. The team has overcome the difficulties such as thin subgrade covering soil layer, the large amount of stone blasting, and the flash floods and mudslides caused by the once-in-a-century heavy rainfall as well as other unfavorable factors to ensure the safe and successful completion of the blasting of more than 600,000 square stones along the line.

The project team has actively fulfilled its social responsibilities, provided various materials for local villagers, and took practical actions to help the Ugandan people and overcome difficulties together, which has been well received by the local people and the government.
