Recently, CSCEC-built Qingdao Haitian Center won 2022 CTBUH Award of Excellence in the category of Best Tall Building (300-399 meters) and CSCEC-designed China Pavilion of the 2020 World Expo in Dubai won the bronze award of 2022 World Expo Award in Category A (Large and XL Pavilions).

CTBUH (the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat) was an organization focusing on worldwide tall buildings as well as the concept, design, construction and operation of future cities and its annual Award of Excellence was honored with the "Oscar" in tall building industry. The winning of the Qingdao Haitian Center proved the center's leading position among world-class tall buildings in tall building projects, industry practice with cutting-edge technologies as well as the full-life circle including development, construction and operation.

It's the fourth consecutive time for the China Pavilion to win this important award. The "World Expo Award" Category A has always been the one with the hottest competition, the most attention and the greatest value. In this world expo, Saudi Arabia and Switzerland respectively won the gold and silver awards in Category A.

The Qingdao Haitian Center

The Qingdao Haitian Center was a typical landmark and an excellent project, which integrated "greenness, science and technology, human life and intelligence". With a floor area of about 36,000 square meters and a total construction area of 490,000 square meters, the center consisted of three super-high tower buildings and two podium buildings. The T2 main tower of the center was the currently highest building in Qingdao city with its height of 369 meters. Beginning its operation on June 20, 2021, the project integrated seven business models including super 5A A-level office buildings, high-level hotels, Sky Art Center and a city tourism hall. The T2 tower building achieved both LEED Gold Certificate by U.S. Green Building Council and Three-star Certificate by China Green Building, and became a state-level leading demonstration project in the field of green building operation and maintenance.

The China Pavilion

The China Pavilion--"the Light of China", was one of the largest pavilions of the 2020 World Expo in Dubai. During the expo, the number of visitors was estimated to reach 1,760,000 and was honored with one of the most popular, typical and exhilarating pavilions. Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau Dimitri Kerkentzes said that China has deeply understood the purpose and essence of the world expo and has shown it in the China Pavilion. Whether the great theme of "building a community with a shared future for mankind", or various vivid exhibitions, they are all in line with the world expo spirit.
