The project of Nanjing Jiangbei civic center was recently awarded the Luban Prize, China's top prize in construction industry.
Since the opening of construction, the project team has worked towards a goal to build a "civic center like the heart of north bank of the Yangtze River" integrating city displays, public services and citizen activities.
In order to let the modern building look more citizen-friendly and beautiful, garden engineers applied the construction concept of "sponge city", making every step took by a citizen be surrounded by "green".
The builders further took advantage of the good location near the Yangtze River and developed a set of "river water air-conditioners", allowing the river water to cool the building. As a result, the electricity cost of each unit was reduced by 30% compared and it is estimated that an annual power saving of 650,000 kWh was realized here.
In addition, the tourist service center of the project was the first smart and green building fully assembled with 3D printing technology and materials used for "printing" were processed solid wastes.
With innovation drive and technological support, CSCEC will always adhere to "craftsmanship" and build more smart projects related to people's daily lives. Besides, CSCEC will contribute to the high-quality development of the city, continuously improve people’s sense of fulfillment, happiness and security, and share a better future with the city.
