The Sukkur-Multan section of the Pakistan Peshawar-Karachi Motorway (PKM), undertaken by CSCEC, has helped to open up the north-south traffic arteries in central Pakistan, greatly improving Pakistan’s traffic situations, and directly driving the social and economic development of the areas along the route.
The PKM project has greatly improved Pakistan’s traffic efficiency and overall traffic. It has become one of the glorious signs for cooperation between China and Pakistan since the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan.
The 392-kilometer motorway, with a contract period of 36 months, was completed by CSCEC in 2019. During the construction, the project provided 30,000 job opportunities for local residents. After the full completion of the PKM motorway, the previous 11-hour journey from both ends is shortened to 4 hours.
The PKM project has kept refining on the construction standards and quality of the project, and well integrated both hardware and software facilities, which is praised by the Pakistani people as a "road of friendship" between China and Pakistan.
