The project is the fourth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MBR) Solar Park in Dubai, covering 44 square kilometers, equivalent to 6,162 soccer fields. With an investment of US$4.4 billion, the project has a total power generation capacity of 950MW, and a solar power tower which is 262 meters tall. The total number of molten salts reached 550,000 tons. The project allows persistent power generation. It is the world’s largest single solar thermal and photovoltaic complex power station project with the maximum area, installed capacity, investment, heat storage of molten salt tank, thermal energy capacity, as well as the highest tower. It is also a key project of the Belt and Road Initiative. Upon completion, it will provide clean electricity to 320,000 households in Dubai each year, reducing carbon emissions by 1.6 million tons per year.

PT1 block is the first complex trough power plant of this project. The total amount of steel used in the project exceeds 8,000 tons. Consisting of many single components, the project is built under a tight schedule with cross-operation. The construction of the project, which is located in the desert, is full of uncontrollable variables. Therefore the construction process is extremely difficult.

To ensure the success of the project, CSCEC worked proactively and came up with safe and dependable construction plans. In addition, the project team strictly implemented all COVID-19 prevention measures, so as to guarantee safe and successful performance of the project.
