Projects undertaken by CSCEC received two grand prizes of Singapore construction industry: HDB Construction Award 2021 for the Bedok North Vale Project and JTC Construction Safety Award 2021 for the Bulim Square Project.

As the top prize of Singapore’s housing construction, HDB Construction Award is in recognition of construction consulting companies and contractors who have achieved outstanding and innovative results in the development of public housing. This year, the Bedok North Vale Project of high quality and standard won the award together with other five projects. Up to now, CSCEC, with 16 award-winning projects, has been the winner for 8 consecutive years.

The Bulim Square Project is CSCEC’s maiden JTC project. It is the only construction project that successfully won the Construction Safety Award 2021 among other projects running for this year’s JTC Safety Award. This is also CCDC’s first win of safety award, which is not only JTC’s affirmation on the production safety of the project team, but also a good result of CSCEC's sticking to the "safety first" principle.

N5C19The Bedok North Vale Project        

Bedok North Vale comprises 2 residential blocks of 16-storeys,as well as a semi-basement garage and roof garden. The project started in May 2017 and officially completed in December 2020. At present, more than 90% of the units have been delivered.

The company followed its "quality first" tradition and paid close attention to the quality of the project during the construction. Thus, "0 defect" was reported many times during the routine safety inspections conducted by HBD, and BCA CONQUAS STAR was awarded (by the Singapore Building and Construction Authority for projects with a quality score of more than 95).

During Covid-19, the project team on the one hand built on-site worker dormitories to alleviate labor shortage caused by the pandemic; on the other hand they made sound schedule to accelerate the construction. Finally, the project was delivered on time, which showed the high performance ability of CSCEC.

The Bulim Square Project

The Bulim Square is a key aspect of the Jurong Innovation District located in the west of Singapore. It covers an area of about 400,000 square meters with a construction area of 134,300 square meters, and comprises 4 tower blocks of 5-6 storey in height, seated on 2 integrated basements of 15 meters in depth. Started in March 2021, the project includes the construction of roads, ditches, viaducts, and an overpass dedicated to unmanned vehicles. It is difficult in construction and has few reference cases.

During Covid-19, a few initiatives including listening ear program, in-house training schools, improvement on facilities and harnessing of technology were launched to maintain workers’ safety and eliminate accidents.
