Bulit by CSCEC, Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport officially went into operation on August 12. The airport the first 4F airport in Shandong Province and one of the first 18 smart airport demonstration projects of China Civil Aviation.

Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport is the first zero-transfer comprehensive transportation center designed to integrate airport, high-speed rail, subway and elevated railway in China. The construction mainly include parking building, transfer center, high-speed rail and subway stations. Passengers only need to get off the high-speed rail & subway station 20 meters above the ground and walk 80 meters to reach the departure hall of the airport. The whole area of Qingdao can be reached within 1 hour, and the passenger and cargo can reach to major cities around Qingdao city within 2 hours.

After Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport is put into operation, it will better cooperate with major national strategies such as the Shanghe Demonstration Zone, the Qingdao Area of China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ), ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, and create a new platform for international cooperation of the Belt and Road Initiative.
