China Construction Mozambique Co., Ltd. quickly launched a rescue operation in the city of Beira in the province of Sofala to help the local government and people restore power and repair national highways, which was highly praised by the local government and people.
The Bella Substation is the largest substation in the city of Beira. Due to the cyclone attack, the substation was seriously affected and the city of Beira lost its power supply. After discussing the construction plan with the local emergency response team, the rescue team of China State Construction resumed the roof of the substation at the fastest speed, dispatched personnel to work overtime to repair the substation. It won praises from the people.
China State Construction also sent a rescue team to the damaged Mozambique National Highway N6 to clear the road at the fastest speed, ensuring the accessibility of the highway. On March 19, the official rescue team of Mozambique called an emergency meeting and hoped to repair the Bridge K191 within 4 days. After two days and two nights of continuous operations, the rescue team of China State Construction realized the opening of the bridge to traffic in advance. The Section K203 was destroyed, with a gap of more than 200m. The Director of the Mozambique Highway Authority Cesar hoped to repair the road gap in 7-10 days. The rescue team of China State Construction carried out the rescue work day and night, and completed the repair in just 3 days. On March 23, all the broken road sections of the National Highway N6 were repaired well, making valuable time for the relief materials to be successfully transported to the affected areas. “We appreciate the Chinese government's support for road repair. Although the conditions are very limited, we worked with China State Construction to quickly repair the damaged parts and restored two collapse points within five days”, said Cesar.
