September 21, 2021 is the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is one of the most important and poetic festivals in China, and it is also a day for family reunion. In Egypt, Algeria, Singapore, Dubai, Malaysia, Bangladesh and other places, CSCECers spent the Mid-Autumn Festival together, building a bridge of friendship.
The Mid-Autumn Festival in China is inseparable from the moon. In Arab countries, people also have a special liking for the moon, and the moon is endowed with beautiful meanings in both daily life and literary works. On the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival, Ammar, an Egyptian employee of the CBD project in New Administrative Capital, recorded a video to explain in detail the different meanings of the moon in Chinese and Egyptian cultures. In Arab countries, the moon means quietness and beauty, and it can also be used to describe the beauty of men.

As a Chinese poem described: "We wish each other a long life so as to share the beauty of this graceful moonlight, even though miles apart". In Egypt, Indonesia, Philippines, Serbia, Bolivia, and other places, CSCECers celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival together. They share the same poem, the same song, and the same full moon together, jointly witnessing happiness.
Born in Pakistan and working in Malaysia, Hamada learned about Mid-Autumn Festival only after working in CSCEC. He enjoyed the festive atmosphere by eating moon cakes, enjoying the moon and carrying lanterns with his colleagues. He said that he enjoyed celebrating this festival with his colleagues because it make them like family members.
Like its delicate appearance, moon cakes are also very exquisite in making. Mr. He, a pastry chef from CSCEC Algeria, recorded a video on Mid-Autumn Festival to show the production process of traditional moon cakes.
In the activity of "The Beauty of China", Xu Yan, a staff member of CSCEC, wore a traditional Chinese cheongsam to tell the story of Mid-Autumn Festival, and Aylin, a staff member of CSCEC Singapore, also sang a Chinese song Wish You a Long Life. Her beautiful singing brought warm wishes to us.

Through a live broadcast, a unique Mid-Autumn Festival celebration was held in Dubai. Many young employees formed seven teams to participate in the three game sessions of "reading poems, idiom win at solitaire and singing songs". Everyone felt the charm of Chinese traditional culture through games. By using the network to realize synchronous live broadcast at home and abroad, CSCECers' domestic relatives and friends were allowed to share happiness and spent the festival together with them via video link.
In Malaysia, a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration featuring "hanging lanterns, enjoying culture, guessing riddles, sending blessings" was held. CSCECers were reunited to feel the strong Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere. Lewis, a CSCECer, said that guessing riddles is very meaningful. During the Covid-19, it not only made our spare time enjoyable, but also made us learn from each other, and enhanced mutual understanding and friendship.
The CSCECers from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal participated in poetry reading during the Mid-Autumn Festival, and performed Su Shi’s famous work Prelude to Water Melody together, wishing all CSCECers and their families a happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
