With the completion of the hoisting of the last steel member, the main steel structure of New Capital CBD Project of Egypt, the tallest building in Africa, was successfully capped.
At the ceremony, Amr, representative of NUCA owner, and Banna, director of the project of Dar Al Riyadh Group, delivered speeches respectively. They highly appreciated the sincere cooperation between China and Egypt in the steel structure construction of the project, and the high-quality steel structure processing and installation level of CSCEC, and they also expressed gratitude and congratulations to all staff.
The project started on November 16, 2019. After 646 days and nights, all kinds of difficulties were overcome, and the capping task was completed on schedule with the construction progress of building one floor in the three days.
The building area of New Capital CBD Project is more than 260,000 square meters, with 2 floors underground and 78 floors above ground. Its architectural style is unique, the steel structure components are complex and diverse, and it is difficult to install on site. The maximum weight of a single component is 28 tons, and the total steel consumption of the project is about 18,000 tons.
