Zhou Naixiang was elected to serve as chairman of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) at a meeting of the board of directors in Beijing on Oct. 10, 2019.
Zhou said he will work hard with the fellow CSCEC staff to live up to shareholder expectations, conscientiously fulfill his duties and responsibilities, and help CSCEC achieve new heights.
He said the company has maintained its healthy and rapid development in the past 10 years since getting listed in the stock market, thanks to the hard work and perseverance of the entire staff.
In the past decade, the company has also created great value for the shareholders and constantly worked to improve profitability. Through continuous capacity building and improved modern management system, the company has become a successful role model for other central SOEs following the mixed-ownership reform.
With concerted efforts of the entire staff, the new chairman vowed to lead the company to steadily progress, improve industrial structure by valuing quality and efficiency, and build a world-class group in construction.
Zhou also said he will try to address reasonable requests from shareholders, let the board of directors play their due roles, subject to oversight by the board of supervisors, and create a pro-business environment. He said he hopes members of the board can also make valuable contributions to the company’s steady and healthy development.
