A year ago, a "Spring Bud" of hope took root in Cambodia. Since then, a new friendly space and a series of digital courses have opened up new opportunities for local women and girls to learn and develop their skills.

On Sept. 29, 2025, the China Children and Teenagers' Fund, the Women's Economic and Entrepreneurship Development Centre of Cambodia and CSCEC jointly unveiled the China-Cambodia Friendly Space for Women's Empowerment and Girls' Growth. The launch marked the start of the China-Cambodia Cooperation Project for Girls and Women's Education in Cambodia.
The project has translated care for girls and women into practical learning resources and training opportunities, helping them gain digital knowledge and develop skills to support their further education, careers and entrepreneurial ambitions.

The project began with 12 core digital courses covering digital basics, e-commerce practices, cultural integration and women's leadership. The courses are taught in Khmer by a digital instructor, Teacher Leilei, with Chinese and English subtitles.
The purpose-built friendly space also provides a platform for China and Cambodia to exchange educational experience and turn teaching ideas into practice.

In response to learners' needs, the friendly space has also introduced courses in digital content writing and video creation.
One year after its launch, the friendly space continues to expand opportunities for Cambodian girls and women to learn and grow. It aims to help them broaden their horizons and make more informed choices about their futures. It also seeks to deepen China-Cambodia friendship through face-to-face exchanges and practical cooperation, allowing the ties between the two countries to take deeper root as the women and girls themselves grow.
