Recently, the Sixth World Nomad Games opened at Bishkek Arena, the largest professional football stadium in Central Asia. CSCEC helped build the venue.

The opening coincided with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Bishkek. Nearly 3,000 athletes and more than 30,000 spectators from around the world gathered for the event, which is often described as the "Olympics of nomadic peoples."

CSCEC supplied materials and provided technical guidance for the installation of the arena's main facade steel grid structure, a 70,000-square-meter membrane roof, a gutter system, catwalks, and 68,500 square meters of curtain wall. The stadium provides Kyrgyzstan with a new venue for hosting major international sports and cultural events.

Seen from above, the arena resembles a blazing sun. Its design draws on the region's yurt culture. A white membrane roof, patterned with traditional Kyrgyz motifs, echoes the dome of a yurt. A red diamond grid wraps the exterior, symbolizing the sun and courage. The result blends modern design with local cultural identity.

The arena spans 280 meters and rises 70 meters high, with a facade full of curves and shifting angles — making it a much greater engineering challenge than a conventional stadium.

Through detailed design work, the project team overcame the technical challenges of constructing such an irregular, curved structure. The white membrane roof weighs just a fifth as much as a traditional concrete roof. Its 86 percent light transmittance lets the turf below receive plenty of natural light, while also helping reduce the stadium's long-term energy consumption. The design brings together architectural beauty, cultural heritage, and energy efficiency.

Throughout construction, the project team introduced advanced building techniques and management practices tailored to local conditions, providing Kyrgyzstan with a standardized and replicable approach to infrastructure construction. The team also conducted regular hands-on training sessions, helping train more than 3,000 local skilled workers and strengthening the country's construction workforce.
