The 2026 Guangdong City Basketball League (YueBA) opened at the CSCEC-renovated Bao'an Stadium.

The renovation project covers a total floor area of approximately 145,100 square meters, comprising two main structures: a gymnasium (47,400 sqm) and a stadium (97,700 sqm).

Originally built in 2002, Bao'an Stadium—featuring 8,188 seats—underwent a comprehensive upgrade in 2025, with a focus on enhancing competition standards and spectator experience.

Key upgrades included high-standard refurbishment of stands, seating, and flooring. Seating quality now meets international competition standards, while scoring screens and entrance displays have been fully upgraded. A full-court LED ribbon screen and an enhanced flag-raising timing system were also introduced to improve event presentation and information delivery.

Designed to meet international venue standards, the project, centers on digital transformation—integrating smart upgrades and deploying AR navigation, AI-powered digital assistants, and VR virtual tours to create a smart, green sports landmark.

Spectators can access real-time information on schedules, venue navigation, and services through digital interfaces.
The venue’s network infrastructure has been comprehensively upgraded, with full Wi-Fi 7 coverage and ongoing 5G-Advanced (5G-A) deployment to ensure reliable connectivity in high-density scenarios, supporting both operations and fan engagement.

In addition, the project leverages BIM-based modeling to build an IOC (Intelligent Operations Center), integrating big data, cloud computing, and IoT technologies to enable centralized, visualized venue management.

Sustainability was also a key focus, with the adoption of energy-efficient materials, natural ventilation, and rooftop greening to reduce carbon emissions. The design further incorporates local cultural elements of Bao'an, blending regional identity with a dynamic sporting atmosphere.

Since its upgrade, the venue has hosted major events including the 2025 FIBA 3x3 Shenzhen Masters and boxing competitions of the 15th National Games.
