The Shizimen Tunnel in Zhuhai, boasting the largest cross-sea shield tunnel in the China constructed by CSCEC, was opened to traffic.

The tunnel features a single-hole and four-lane design with a total length of 1,905 meters for the left hole and 2,657 meters for the right hole. Upon its completion, this project will serve as a pivotal transportation hub for the local area, further enhancing the comprehensive road network within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Situated at the heart of the Shizimen Central Business District, the project navigates through a dynamic environment with ongoing constructions and large-scale events. Proactive coordination with external stakeholders has been diligently pursued, ensuring the safe and orderly progression of the project.

Pioneering experimental simulations, innovative techniques have been devised to merge permanent and temporary wall concrete pouring methods under challenging conditions, alongside advanced procedures for waterproofing connections between steel columns and the base slab.
The project has secured 21 authorized patents and 4 engineering methodologies, while also contributing 9 published research papers. It has garnered numerous accolades, including the esteemed International BIM Awards of IDTM·bSHK.
