Recently, the construction of the Tongshan Damushan Pumped Storage Power Station in Hubei built by CSCEC started.

The project is located in Tongshan County, Xianning City, Hubei Province. It has a designed installed capacity of 1,400 MW, an annual power generation capacity of 1.56 billion kWh, and a total construction period of 76 months. As the first pumped storage project with a hundred-billion-level investment to start construction in Hubei Province in 2023, it is estimated that it can drive GDP growth of more than 18 billion yuan, and its overall regulation capacity can reach 2.8 million kW. It can save 530,000 tons of standard coal consumption and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.398 million tons annually.

After completion, the project will play a significant role in ensuring reliable and secure power supply for the region and accelerating local transformation to clean and low-carbon energy. At the same time, the project will provide about 4,000 employment opportunities per year on average during the construction period.
