Recently, the Xiamen Egret Stadium constructed by CSCEC has ushered in new construction progress. More than 1,600 builders are stepping up the construction including the movable stand, curtain walls, roofing, electromechanical pipelines, and decoration.

The project is located in the eastern part of Xiamen City, Fujian Province, with a total construction area of 302,600 square meters. After the completion, it will hold the football matches for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup and become a new landmark of Xiamen.

First multi-purpose stadium for football and athletics in China

The stadium can accommodate more than 60,000 people as it serves as a football stadium. The lower stands are all movable with a lifting platform. When the platform is lowered to the field, the movable stands move back to give space to the tracks and switch to athletic mode, which can accommodate more than 50,000 people.

A stadium with a sea view

The stadium is located in the bay area, and is separated from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, Jimei District and other landmarks by sea. The stadium has an inverted U shape, with tall stands in east and west and low stands in north and south. It is located 200 meters away from the sea, and an open space of 80 meters wide is left at the stadium, so that two-thirds of the audience in the stadium can see the beautiful sea view outside the stadium.
