CSCEC completes affordable housing project in Park Road, Nairobi, Kenya

Recently, CSCEC has completed the affordable housing project in Park Road of Nairobi, Kenya, as the proprietor issued a performance certificate. Uhuru Kenyatta, President of Kenya, who had inspected the project twice, highly praised the efficiency and quality of construction and called it a benchmark for affordable housing construction and a model in the country.

Kenya is facing an annual housing shortage of 250,000 units. Its citizens are in urgent need of affordable housing with high quality. As an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project undertaken by CSCEC, the project has a construction area of 123,000 square meters and covers an area of about 32,000 square meters, and includes 1,370 housing units and supporting facilities.

On February 5th, 2019, the construction of the project officially kicked off. With a commitment to fulfilling the contract and a priority to design, CSCEC dispatched architectural and structural professionals to the construction site to supervise and optimize the implementation of construction drawings in an all-round way. Moreover, these professionals focused on optimization of architectural functions and structures, and solved the problems of resources organization and coordination in construction, structures and electromechanics, providing support for the efficient implementation of the project.

Furthermore, the construction of the project created jobs for local people. CSCEC signed an agreement with representatives from local small and medium-sized enterprises association on doorsets procurement, making contributions to stabilizing employment and driving local economic development.
