Built by CSCEC, the East District Project of Shichuang Medical Valley Industrial Park  is located in Haidian District, Beijing, with a total construction area of 106,000 square meters, including 6 scientific research buildings and supporting facilities. Among them, No.15 Scientific Research Building is the largest passive ultra-low energy consumption building under construction in Beijing, and will become a national research and development test base for biomedical and comprehensive healthcare enterprises after the project is completed.

Passive ultra-low energy consumption building is a building that does not rely on active equipment such as heating and air conditioning, and passively maintains and adjusts the indoor temperature through its own space design, maintenance structure and building materials, so as to achieve the effect of warm in winter and cool in summer. After the completion of No.15 scientific research building, it will save more than 80% of energy compared with traditional buildings.

Firstly, in order to keep the indoor temperature constant in all seasons, electric sunshade on windows with double vacuum glass outer windows and airtight doors will be installed; non-thermal conductive materials will be used to prevent heat loss in the external wall; and indoor switches, socket junction boxes and other devices will be placed on the internal wall to avoid affecting the thermal insulation performance of the external wall. Secondly, in order to ensure air tightness, special expansion sealing strips will be used to seal the doors and windows and other parts to make them airtight. Furthermore, in order to ensure that the indoor temperature is warm in winter and cool in summer, ground source heat recovery system will be set up, which will keep the indoor temperature consistent with the temperature of underground normal temperature soil and groundwater through buried underground pipelines, and will maintain it between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius, which is the most comfortable for human body.

In addition, efficient fresh air equipment for the building to keep the indoor air fresh will be installed.
