CSCEC builds the largest cooling station in Asia!

Located in Qianwan area of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, the electromechanical general contracting project of No. 5 centralized cooling station (phase I), which was built by CSCEC, started to operate recently, bringing cool air to its surrounding facilities. After the completion of the project, it will become the largest centralized cooling station in Asia so far.

The No. 5 centralized cooling station in Qianhai is the largest regional centralized cooling system in the world, and over half of the electromechanical general contracting projects in the area under construction were built by CSCEC.

As a central cooling station and the largest cooling station, the No.5 cooling station is called the largest "green central air conditioner" in Asia. After the completion of the project, it will provide centralized cooling for 2.69 million square meters, which can save over 20 million kilowatt-hours of electricity every year and reduce about 19,400 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to the carbon sink capacity of 466,666 square meters of forests.

The project adopts electric cooling + ice storage technology, which uses electric refrigerator to create ice and store it in ice storage pool at night, and melts ice during the day to provide cold energy to customers.

In the project, an ice storage pool of 36,000 cubic meters is built, which is equivalent to the capacity of 20 standard swimming pools. After completion, the ice storage capacity can reach 153,800 RTH, which will become an "energy pool" for ice storage at night.

There are also 10,000-square-meter refrigeration rooms and ice storage pools, which need to install 8,000 meters of pipelines, with a maximum pipeline diameter of 1.4 meters. The construction site is like a "pipeline jungle", and the occupancy rate of plane space is over 75%.
