On the morning of June 27, with the departure of flight 3U8001 of Sichuan Airlines, the Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, a civil transportation hub airport designed and built by CSCEC, was officially launched.
After the airport is put into operation, it will help build Chengdu into an international aviation hub, speed up the integration between Sichuan Province and the global economic map, build an airport economy and an aviation city, and promote the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle.
Smart Airport
The airport has the first PRT system in Asia and the second in the world. In addition, a comprehensive ground transportation center (GTC) is built between the two terminals, which combines and superimposes various modes of transportation such as high-speed rail, local railway, subway, taxi, private car and long-distance bus, so as to realize zero-distance transfer.
With a building area of about 710,000 square meters, T1 and T2 terminal buildings are connected with each other through APM system, which is the first "hand-in-hand" terminal buildings in China. The design takes into account the high parking bays rate and the walking distance of passengers, which is convenient for passengers to transfer quickly.
Humanistic Airport
The airport displays Sichuan customs in various forms. The configuration of the airport terminal buildings is taken from the "divine bird" at Jinsha site in Chengdu, and the four terminals are like four flying divine birds in the State of Shu.
In addition, as a window of Chengdu to the world, and with unique Sichuan characteristics, the interior decoration of the T1 terminal building fully combines the unique culture of Sichuan, incorporating twelve kinds of attractions such as Qingcheng Mountain, Jiuzhaigou Valley and E'mei Mountain into the interior design of the airport, allowing passengers to see all the beautiful sceneries of Sichuan without leaving the building.
Green Airport
The design of the airport has been certified as a "three-star" green building, which is the highest level of green building. The airport meets 100% of green building standards, reaching an advanced level in the industry. Built by natural water on the site, the lotus lake green eco-park achieves the goal of constructing sponge city and also provides a comfortable environment for passengers and staff.
In order to increase the amount of daylighting, a large number of glass windows are used in the design of T1 and T2 terminal buildings. The air conditioning system need not be turned on when the weather is fine in spring and autumn, so as to save energy to the greatest extent.
From the perspective of cost saving, the terminal building area and the number of floors are minimized in the design, which is showed in a simple structure. In the phase I, the problem of domestic and international air-to-air transfer is solved by building a corridor. In the construction process, new building materials, photovoltaic power generation, rainwater collection and treatment, and recycling technologies are used extensively to build a new airport that is environmentally friendly, low-carbon and sustainable.
