On February 8, China State Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd.(CSCEC)and Egypt's Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities held an online signing ceremony for the general contract for the high-rise complex project in Egypt's New Alamein City in Beijing and Cairo. Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assam Arzal, Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang, Commercial Counselor Zhou Zhencheng, Egyptian Ambassador to China Mohammed Badri and others attended the signing ceremony.
Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assam Arzal expressed his gratitude to CSCEC team for their tireless effort and the support from all sides. He said the New Alamein City represents one of the largest cities in Egypt the Egyptian government built with the latest design. This city symbolizes both an important milestone in the history of Egyptian architecture and the cooperation between Egypt's Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities and CSCEC.
CSCEC will give full play to the advantages of its complete industry chain, boost the implementation of the project with high quality and standards, so as to contribute to the development of Egypt.
The high-rise complex project in the New Alamein City is located on the southern shore of the Mediterranean Sea. It includes one 300-meter-tall apartment, four 200-meter-tall apartments, and supporting facilities, with a construction area of 1.1 million square meters. The contract value is about 1.92 billion US dollars and the project will start in the first half of 2021 as planned.
