CSCEC held a "Witness Happiness" cloud open day event at the New Phnom Penh Airport in Phnom Penh, Cambodia at the end of 2020. Covering an area of 2,600 hectares, the airport, when completed, will be a 4F-class airport, the highest-class airport in the world, the same as the well-known Beijing Daxing International Airport in China. It will be able to accommodate the takeoff and landing of the Airbus A380 (with a takeoff weight of up to 560 tons), the world's largest wide-body passenger aircraft. As the 2023 Southeast Asian Games will be held in Cambodia, the airport will serve as the national gateway of Cambodia to receive tourists from all over the world.

China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. (CCTEB), a subsidiary of CSCEC, is responsible for the project schedule management as the contractor. It is also responsible for the construction of the passenger terminal building with a construction area of 160,000 square meters, the north airside concourse with a construction area of 50,000 square meters, and the energy center building of 7,000 square meters as well as for the construction management of airport's external works including viaducts, parking lots, roads, landscape engineering, pile foundation, glass supply, supply and installation of elevators and escalators, and baggage handling system. The project officially started at the beginning of 2020. At present, the pile foundation test and the pile head removal are basically completed and enter the stage of foundation construction.
