On Aug. 19, the opening ceremony of the China Construction Science and Technology Museum and the exhibition of the construction of two emergency hospitals -- Huoshenshan Hospital and Leishen Hospital -- were held in Wuhan.

Earlier this year, China State ConstructionEngineering Corporation (CSCEC) took immediate actions in response to the outbreak of COVID-19, mobilizing construction workers and machinery of its 12 subsidiary companies from all over the country to support Wuhan. The two emergency hospitals -- Huoshenshan Hospital and Leishenshan Hospital -- were completed in 10 days and 12 days, respectively, showcasing the world-renowned China speed in infrastructure construction, and creating a miracle in the fight against the coronavirus.

Zhou said he believes the exhibition on the construction of the two emergency hospitals was of very special significance as the opening exhibition of the museum. CSCEC has made devoted efforts in the construction of the Huoshenshan Hospital and the Leishenshan Hospital, which has strongly spread the national spirit of caring for each other in difficult times.

Designed by famous architect Li Zuyuan, the main building of the China Construction Science and Technology Museum resembles a seed that is about to germinate. The exhibition hall covers an area of about 19,000 square meters, featuring an unconventional design with more than 6,400 main building blades of various shapes.

The permanent exhibition is curated by Zhuang Weimin, former dean of the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
