VP of CSCEC on Short Business Trip to Maldives, Sri Lanka and Singapore

From April 18 to April 22, Zheng Xuexuan, Vice President of China State Construction Engineering Corp., Ltd (CSCEC), had paid a short business trip to Maldives, Sri Lanka and Singapore.
During his visit in Maldives, VP Zheng met with Maldivian President Yameen, to whom, Zheng introduced CSCEC’s overall operations and its overseas businesses, and expressed CSCEC’s willingness in participating actively in Maldives’ development. President Yameen said that as a traditional friend of China, Maldivian government valued the cooperation with China, and was willing to strengthen partnership in areas such as housing and infrastructure.
VP Zheng paid an official call on Sri Lanka’s President Sirisena on April 21, during which Zheng introduced about CSCEC’s historical development, operations and overseas businesses. He stressed the willingness of CSCEC playing an active role in building Sri Lanka. President Sirisena spoke highly of CSCEC’s achievements and reputation in Sri Lanka, especially the China aid Bandaranaike Memorial International Convention Hall constructed by CSCEC in the 1950s. He expected that CSCEC would successfully complete the project of South Highway Extension Line.
During his stay in Sri Lanka, VP Zheng inspected the project of South Highway Extension Line and debriefed on the progress of the works. He fully affirmed the works of CSCEC branch in Sri Lanka and the management team of the project. He required that the Sri Lanka branch should focus on strengthening market analysis and research, tapping market potential, forging company brand, cultivating talents and achieving great success.
Zheng also met separately with the Chinese Ambassador and the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka, and exchanged views with them regarding market exploitations in Sri Lanka and other related matters.
In Singapore, VP Zheng listened to the work debrief of China Construction (South Pacific) Development Pty. Ltd (CSCEC South Pacific) before expressing his satisfaction to the company’s development and performance in recent years. He said that CSCEC South Pacific should take into consideration the operation tasks and goals set in CSCEC’s “Thirteenth five-Year Plan” for overseas businesses, so that vision could be broadened, innovations be made and channels be expanded. Such market operation strategy, he added, as business diversification and market-driven regionalization should be implemented so as to ensure the company’s rapid growth during the “Thirteenth five-Year Plan” period.
VP Zheng also met with the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Singapore, and discussed about taking the geographical advantage and financial center status of Singapore to actively participate in the construction of “One Belt One Road” in nearby regions.
