Heads of State of China and Egypt Witness CSCEC Signing Contract for New Capital Construction Project in Egypt

On January 21, 2016, at the witness of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Egyptian President Sisi, Chairman Guan Qing of China State Construction Engineering Corporation signed the general contract for the construction of new administrative capital of Egypt with Egyptian Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouli.
With the overall contract value of US$ 2.7 billion and construction period of 3 years, the signed Contract covers 4 projects inclusive of National Convention Center, Parliament Building, Exhibition Complex and office building for 12 government ministries.
The project of new administrative capital of Egypt is an important government program announced by the Egyptian government. The signed Contract belongs to the first phase project developed with priority by the government. The new capital, once completed, will become the new political and financial center of Egypt, which is likely to bring along the development of Suez Canal Economic Belt and the Red Sea Economic Belt, helping boost national recovery program of Egypt.
The successful signing of the Contract meanwhile signifies another great achievement made by CSCEC in carrying out “One Belt One Road” Program. (from Overseas Operations)【print】 【closed】
